Release historyPig Atlas version 1Release date: 2021.07.01Ensembl version: 92.38 The first version of the Pig Protein Atlas includes tissue expression profile for 22,342 protein-coding pig genes, based on 350 samples from Bama minipig. Gene summary pages are provided for all the protein-coding pig genes and if applicable, the corresponding human orthologue is displayed for comparison (based on data from the Human Protein Atlas v20.1). Genes in the Pig Protein Atlas v1 are described by 5 different categories. Tissue specificity, tissue distribution and brain regional specificity categories are all based on the rules previously established in the Human Protein Atlas. In addition, UMAP gene clustering and within-tissue variation are added. UMAP gene clustering includes an interactive landing page for exploring the 84 gene clusters. The within-tissue variation enables detailed tissue comparison and complements the tissue specificity category that is based on the 44 tissue types. The pig tissue dictionary provides full-screen whole slide images, annotations of tissue elements and short descriptions of the different tissues sampled in the study. |
